De Soto National Memorial
Historic village and nature trail commemorating the expedition of Spanish explorer Hernando De Soto, who landed in the Tampa Bay area in May 1539.
De Soto National Memorial presents living history presentations at specific times during the year. The Spanish encampment features daily presentations (weather permitting) from mid-December to the last weekend in April. The last day of the living history encampment includes a special reenactment of De Soto's landing.
