Summer golf memberships
Here is an alphabetical list of clubs and courses reporting summer 2010 memberships and special deals:
• IMG GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB (18 holes):
Five months for $500.
Cart fee: $14.
Walking fee: $10 anytime. Contact number: 941-758-1466
• JACARANDA WEST COUNTRY CLUB IN VENICE (18 holes):
May 1-Sept. 30. Full Membership with unlimited golf, tennis and social privileges is $100 per month or $400 for 5 months. Cart fee not included. There is no food and beverage requirement. Evening golf and tennis clinics will be offered, along with golf and tennis evening play. Many social events are planned.

• LAKE VENICE GOLF CLUB (27 holes):
May 1-Oct. 31 for $450, plus cart fee.
Special rate: Starting April 15, $20 after noon.

• LAUREL OAK COUNTRY CLUB (36 holes):
May 15-Oct. 15, includes golf and tennis for a $1,000 flat fee. It also includes full golf, tennis, pool and clubhouse privileges.
What is not included: Taxes, charges for carts, dining, guest fees, reciprocal privileges at other clubs. Membership contingent upon approval by the club. There are 36 holes at Laurel Oak.

• THE MEADOWS COUNTRY CLUB (54 holes):
May 1- Oct. 31
Fees: $500 and includes golf on all three courses, tennis, social, dining, pool and fitness privileges.
Cart fees: $18.75.
Walking fee: $7.
Children under age 16 may play for free with paying adult. Food and beverage minimum: $250.

• MISSION VALLEY COUNTRY CLUB (18 holes):
May 1-Oct. 31.
Fees: $100 per month, includes full dining privileges. Fees for walking: $11 for 18 holes and $7 for 9 holes. Push carts are available.

• PALM-AIRE CC (36 holes): May 1-Oct. 31
Fee: $500. Membership includes golf, tennis, fitness, pool, dining and all social events. Members will not be charged for green fees or court fees. Children under 16 can golf for free with an adult. Cart fees are $20 per person. Some walking permitted at the discretion of head professional and there is no charge for walking.
Range: $15 for 10 buckets or $150 for six months.
Food minimum: $250

• PLANTATION GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB (36 holes):
May 1-Oct. 4
Fee: $500 plus tax. Includes: singles, spouses or any children under 23 living at home. Also green fees and tennis court times.

• UNIVERSITY PARK COUNTRY CLUB (27 holes):
May 1-Oct. 31.
Fees: $500 participation fee for unlimited golf, range balls, tennis, fitness, dining, social and holiday events. $21 cart fees. Members can book tee times four days in advance. Food and beverage minimum: $250.
